Cold Summer in the City
Those of us who live in New York keep complaining about the unseasonably cold weather. Just to give non-New Yorkers a better idea of the climate here, it’s cool enough that my building has turned the heat back on in my apartment. It’s June 17th and New York, known for its hot and humid summers, has weather that’s prompted the heat to be turned on. What gives? I’m sick of wearing pants and long-sleeved shirts. My pretty dresses are feeling neglected.I, unlike my roommate, didn’t realize my pipes clanking again meant the heat got turned on and now feel like a total idiot for having the ac and heat on at the same time! Grrrr!
not only is it chilly in NY but also in DC which is also known for its hot and humid summers. This time of the year i’m usually cursing the weather in three different languages for being disgustingly humid and i’m doing the same but for a whole other reason :( boo!
It’s almost 100 degrees here and I sweat the second I step outside. My hair doesn’t stay straight and I am constantly sweating out my press.
I’ll trade ya!
Welcome to June gloom, everyone but the south! This is a yearly occasion for us southern Californians, in which the sun is rarely seen in June, despite the perfect-weathered May and the a bit too hot July. Most tourists don’t know this though, and get pissed when it’s usually too cold for the beach when they come visit at the wrong “summer” month. Booya!
it’s fucking cold in new york. i may have to pull my down comfy back out of storage. sigh.
