1. Passion Pit, Manners.  I feel like this is self-explanatory.  “Eyes as Candles” should clarify things if it’s not.

2. The Low Anthem, Oh My God Charlie Darwin.  While Rolling Stone sort of panned the eponymous song, I’m really into it.  I actually think it’s perfect.  Screw you, RS. Bob Moon told me it was great and I believe him and NPR’s New Music clan WAY MORE THAN YOU. They never bring up American Idol.  Or, worst, put it out there on a, say, cover.  You know.
