NEW YORK, NY July 23, 2009 —Federal authorities arrested about 30 people this morning, including several public officials and rabbis, as part of an international money laundering and corruption sweep. And the sweep isn’t over. An FBI spokesperson says the arrests will go on till noon. Those arrested include the mayors of Hoboken and Secaucus, and the Deputy Mayor of Jersey City. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Newark has scheduled a press conference for noon today. Court appearances of those arrested are set to begin at about two o’clock.
