legitimate conversations in my family:
reks: i couldn’t sleep at all last night for fear of ghosts. you got me all scared of ghosts before going to sleep.
mhws: you’re the one who told me the place was haunted!
reks: no, i said the last place was haunted. you got me all worked up about this place, said puppy saw a ghost.
mhws: oh that’s right. and maybe he was just having a penny-moment.
reks: you told me we had to go find out what was spooking him.
mhws: and you found the settee.
reks: the haunted one.
mhws: they’re probably no ghosts at all. no ghosties. no ghosties!
reks: we better hope they’re ghosts. tons and tons of ‘em. otherwise rapture done come and gone and left us and we were deemed unworthy.
mhws: oh gawd!
